Get a Podcast Plan!
On January 11, 2006, Apple announced that it sold 42 million iPod units.
In the last week of December 2007, Apple estimates that over 67.5 million have been sold.
And that's just Apple's iPod. There are many other competitive mobile media devices out there...the Zune, the Zen, the iRiver, etc.
So what does this mean for web markers? It means that your prospects and customers have access to a significant new medium....and that they are actively looking for audio and video content. So what's your company's podcast plan for 2007?

If you're in business and you think you don't need to concern yourself with podcasting, guess again. I started podcasting in April 2005: and since then, I found four critical reasons why you need a podcast and blog policy....right away!

One of my very first podcasts was in April 2005 ? it is 7.5 minutes long, and has been downloaded over 10,000 times in 2005.

It's ancient history by now! But I found a huge new audience due to podcasting...PLUS I was able to extend relationships with established clients.

I called this April 2005 podcast Parents and Teachers: Listen to Podcasts. In it, I described some podcast fundamentals:

  • why podcasting is important for marketers and businesspeople,
  • what marketers and entrepreneurs need in order to podcast,
  • what audience members need in order to listen to and/or subscribe to podcasts.
  • why parents and teachers need to understand podcasting
This is pretty historic stuff! But every word of it turned out to be true!
If you are a grandparent, parent, or teacher: Teenagers are doing more than downloading and listening to record-company sanctioned music on their nifty little iPods. Find out exactly what your kids are getting into! (Listen here.)

If you are a business person: Listen to find out how podcasting (and blogging) will fundamentally change the way you attract and keep customers.

(PS - You don't need an iPod to listen to a podcast. All you need is a computer with a sound card, speakers, and a media player. So click on the above links and listen to a podcast today! )
