If you currently have a blog, let's say a free Blogger blog...and you want to import all of your old content into WordPress, just follow the simple instructions posted here at the WordPress Wiki.
The hardest part was waiting while WordPress did all the hard work of importing and re-establishing the navigation structure and links.
And if you have another type of blog, relax! The "Import" menu item at your WordPress dashboard guides you though importing content from a number of well known blogs.
